The Lady Knights had an excellent game against the Mustangs at the ASIJ home pitch. CAJ had 8 short corners in the first half and made a total of 12 shots on goal led by Johanna with 6 shots and the sole goal- scorer of the game. The goal was made during a penalty corner play 25 minutes into the game from the left wing position. The Lady Knights had a team combined total of 73 defensive saves led by center halfback DoYeon with 14 and closely followed by Meg with 11 and Johanna with 10. Well played ladies!

The Lady Knights played a grueling game following their win against ASIJ earlier that morning. They had a team total of 59 defensive saves led by center halfback DoYeon with 17 saves and special mention to goal keeper and senior Aiah who had 7 saves from the box. Left fullback Emma also had a crucial game changing save within the 16 yard circle. The game was primarily a defensive game but the forward with most shots on goal was freshman and rookie player Reeko O. Well played ladies!

The Lady Knights played an excellent match against British School of Tokyo in the frigid evening hours. With temperatures bordering 4 above freezing the Lady Knights had a total of 26 shots on goal with 4 goals. The first goal was assisted by Johanna and then taken by Ellina 8 minutes into the first half. The final three goals were scored by Meg giving her a hat-trick. Meg's first goal was 7 minutes into the 2nd half. Her second goal was followed 2 minutes later with an assist by Ayaka. The final goal of the game was double-assisted from DoYeon and Reeko respectively 14 minutes into the 2nd half. The team total for defensive saves was 76 and this was led by center halfback DoYeon with an astounding 18 saves . Halfbacks Johanna and Jiwon both followed closely with 13 saves each. Great job Lady Knights! Currently CAJ is leading the league with a 5 win and 1 loss record.

With a wind chill factor of about 0Âº C and a frosted field the Lady Knights rode the Mustangs with a 1 to nothing match. The team had a total of 57 defensive saves led by team captain Johanna with 14 and followed closely by center halfback Doyeon with 12 saves. Ayaka and Jiwon both have 7 saves each. With three minutes to spare in the 1st half we had a double assist from Ayaka and Ellina on a penalty corner play in which team captain Johanna scored from the left post of the ASIJ goal. The team had 3 penalty corner plays in the match and defended their side of the pitch wonderfully. Well played ladies!

In our first match against British School of Tokyo (BST) this season we struggled to gain momentum in the first minutes of the game but then had a score by team captain Johanna 13 minutes into the game. In the 2nd rookie player and freshman Reeko scored 5 minutes into the half and also had another goal with 7 minutes remaining. The team had a total of 57 defensive saves led by center halfback DoYeon with 14 and followed closely by team captains Johanna and Ayaka both with 9 defensive saves. Fullback Emma played an exceptional match with 7 defensive saves protecting team goalie and senior Aiah who had 4 defensive clears. CAJ had 4 penalty corner plays and kept BST contained through good communication and outlets to the open space on the pitch. Well played Lady Knights!

The Lady Knights battled hard against the Dragons on their home pitch. In the first two minutes the Knights scored a point and that was later tied up by YIS for a 1-1 score. At 32:25 Reeko scored the team's second point assisted by Meg and at 34:14 the 3rd goal was scored by Ellina with an assist by team captain Johanna. The team had 60 defensive saves led by Johanna with 16 and followed closely by DoYeon with 10 and Jiwon with 8. There were 17 shots on goal and CAJ led YIS in penalty corner plays which was to CAJ's advantage. Well played Lady Knights!

The YIS Dragons played against the Knights in a Saturday match which resulted in a 2-3 loss and places CAJ in equal standings with both YIS and ASIJ. We have a 1 win, 1 loss record currently and will have another chance at YIS in January. The team had a total of 33 defensive saves led by center halfback DoYeon with 8 and Ayaka and Meg with 7 each. There were 23 shots on goal led by Reeko with 7 and Johanna with 6. The first goal of the game was scored by Reeko with 16 minutes left in the first half. YIS scored to tie the game before the halftime. Johanna scored CAJ's second goal 8 minutes into the 2nd half and then YIS followed with two more goals to seal their win. CAJ led the game with 7 short corner plays as opposed to their opponent's 4 and the game was well played by both teams. Well done Ladies!

The Lady Knights started the season with an explosive start scoring there first goal in the first 90 seconds of the match. The team had a total of 41 defensive saves led by DoYeon and Ayaka. There were 18 shots on goal led by senior Johanna and freshman Reeko each with 7 shots on goal. Ashley scored two goals and Reeko scored a hat-trick for the first game of the season giving the team a 5-2 win against the ASIJ Mustangs. Stunningly played ladies!

The game was a 0-0 score even to the final minutes of the game and went into 10 minute overtime with 7-aside on the pitch. YIS scored a goal 4:52 minutes into the game during the overtime and went on into the winner's bracket of the tournament. However, CAJ played an excellent defensive game with about 40 defensive saves and 6 shots on goal including 3 short corner opportunities. Aiah in the goal had 7 saves alone and those who played in the overtime were Ellina, Johanna, Amy, Jiwon, DoYeon, Ayaka, and Aiah.

With more than 40 defensive saves and 5 shots on goal the CAJ Knights came away with a 1-1 tie and since it was dark on the pitch and there were no lights on ASIJ's middle school field we decided to finish the match with a flick off in which 3 representatives were chosen from each team. CAJ began with Ayaka and hit to the top left corner of the goal which was blocked with the stick by BST's goalie. Aiah blocked the BST shot. Emily shot on goal and it went center and was blocked by the goalie. Aiah then blocked BST's second shot on goal. Johanna made a flick into the top left corner of the goal out of reach by the goalie's stick. The game was not done even though their was premature celebration on the part of the team. The BST rep shot...and missed! CAJ took a win and placed 3rd overall in the tournament play. Great job Lady Nights!
The Lady Knights walked onto the YCAC pitch in 2ÂºC weather and wet turf. CAJ led the game in short corners however YIS had a goal with 12 minutes to the half and then with about 5 seconds to the end of the half a short corner whistle was called and CAJ's center striker DoYeon scored a goal to tie the match. On the defensive end there were upward of 20 saves led by sweeper Ayaka T. with 6 saves. There were 15 shot attempts on goal which were co-led by Johanna and DoYeon. Great job Lady Knights!

After a tie game against the YIS Dragons in 3ÂºC weather the Lady Knights had another 70 minute game to play against the ASIJ Mustangs. The Lady Knights played an excellent game both defensively and offensively with more than 35 defensive saves and 7 shots on goal. ASIJ led the game in short corners with 6 corner plays as opposed to CAJ's 1 short corner in the second half of game play. Both points were scored by CAJ in the second half. The first goal was with 13 minutes till the end of the game with a follow shot by Emily on the right wing after a shot attempt from Johanna. The second goal that sealed the win was was an assist by Johanna to Amy. Excellently played Lady Knights and we'll see both Mustangs and Dragons this Saturday in tournament play!

The Lady Knights had a game on the home pitch against YIS Dragons and it was a close match with both teams penetrating the circle. CAJ came away with 20 defensive saves led by DoYeon and Serene with 8 saves and 7 saves respectively. Shots on goal were made by Johanna, Ellina, Amy, DoYeon, and Emily. CAJ Knights led the game in short corners with 6 opportunities compared to the Dragon's 5 but YIS pulled off a win with a score from the right post in the early minutes of the first half.
It was an exciting game that kept the crowd on their toes this evening on the CAJ home pitch. A game with well over 20 defensive saves led by DoYeon, Serene, and goalie Aiah G. Short corners often determine the direction of the match and ASIJ had 14 compared to CAJ's 7 however the Lady Knights had 8+ shots on goal with scores by Amy, Johanna, Ellina, and Ashley in that respective order. The first goal of the match was 11 minutes into the game. Then at 17:46 on the clock there was an assist from Johanna to Amy on the right wing. At 7:40 on the clock Ellina had a clean pass to Johanna who was wide open on the left side of the goal. ASIJ then scored their second goal at 5:50 and CAJ again from a short corner shot by Ellina with 1 minute to the end of the first half. The shot from Ellina was blocked but popped up high above the goalie's head for goal into the top of the net. The score was then 4-2 at the half with CAJ in the lead. However, in the 2nd half CAJ was hard hit by ASIJ's short corner plays and Aiah had a close save on her left goal post followed in hot pursuit by the Mustang's. The shot did not go in but in the following play the Mustang's rebounders scored their 3rd goal and quickly made their 4th goal after Aiah repelled their attacks on goal several times. The end of the half left the match at a draw of 4-4 and it was well played on both sides of the pitch. Great job Lady Knights!

The CAJ Knights had a goal-scoring opportunity within the first two minutes of the game and then ASIJ had a comeback scoring 4 goals in the first half. CAJ held ASIJ at bay the remainder of the game and didn't allow them to score again. Serene scored in the 2nd half assisted by Johanna with 5 minutes 30 seconds remaining on the clock. Aiah had 4 defensive saves and DoYeon led the team in saves with 10+ defensive saves. Lead shooter was Amy and total saves was 25+ saves. Way to go Lady Knights!
Though the final score was a draw the Lady Knights played an exciting game with several choice opportunities and the win could have gone either direction. Aiah had 4 saves in the goal and Lead shooter was Ellina with 3 shots on goal. With 20+ defensive saves and 2 short corner opportunities the Lady Knights gave the Dragons a fighting match! Great job Knights!

The Lady Knights sent the Mustangs on the run with a exceptionally played match on CAJ's home pitch. The team had more than 40 defensive saves led by DoYeon with 8 saves, and closely followed by Ayaka with 5 saves and a crucial save in the 'D.' Aiah, in the goal, had 6 saves. Offensively the shots on goal were by Amy and Johanna. During the 1st half Johanna had a goal at 12:52 on the clock and ASIJ scored a goal at 25:17 with 5 minutes until the end of the first half. In the 2nd half there was a double-assist from Ayaka to Amy and then to Johanna at 6 minutes into the 2nd half. ASIJ scored a second goal at 13:56 on the clock and Johanna sealed the victory with a reverse stick shot in the goal with 3 minutes to spare at the end of the 2nd. This is the first time in a while that CAJ field hockey has had a player with a hat-trick (three consecutive goals in one game). Congratulations Lady Knights!

The Lady Knights had more than 30 defensive saves but played an extremely offensive game. Defensive saves was led by sweeper Ayaka and center halfback DoYeon. The team had 8 shots on goal and 8 short corner penalty plays. Johanna had a reverse stick hit into the goal at 14:10 on the clock and another goal at 21:43. Four minutes later Amy had a superb follow shot resulting in a 3-0 win against the YIS Dragons. Great job lady knights!

The Lady Knights played an excellent match against ASIJ's Mustangs. A shot on ASIJ's rookie goalie could have turned the tide of the game but then Mustang's took the lead. The team played a defensive game with more than 30 defensive teams and more than 5 defensive saves from the goal by Aiah. Great game Knights and we'll see the Mustang's again this Saturday!

The Lady Knights had more than 20 defensive saves and about 3 shots on goal on Saturday's game. DoYeon led the team in defensive saves and Kayla had more than 5 defensive saves as goalie. Ellina was the sole goal scorer in a game that resulted in about 5 short corners for both the Knights and the opposing team. BST was a non-league match and will be excellent practice for our next game against the ASIJ Mustangs.

The Lady Knights played a well fought game on the bluff at Yokahama's prestigious YCAC grounds. The team's 30 defensive saves were led by center halfback DoYeon with 8 saves. Aiah had 2 saves in the goal and defended against 8 short corner plays from the Dragons. The team had 12 attemps on goal shot attempts was co-led by Ellina and Emily with 3 shots each. Amy scored the first goal of the game in the 2nd half and this was followed later by an goal by Johanna on the left wing with an assist from Ellina. Excellently played Lady Knights!

The match against YIS was played on a beautiful blue-sky, Fuji-visible day at the Yokohama Country and Athletics Club (YCAC). The team had 7 shots on goal with one goal made by Johanna Y. with 1:34 minutes remaining at the end of the first half. The team had more than 35 defensive saves led by freshman Doyeon with 9 and Marcy N. with 8. Goal keeper, Aiah G. had one save and many close calls in this match including one shot from a YIS player which, untouched Aiah knew was a dead ball and therefore literally hopped over the ball. Had the ball been touched, even by a defender, it might have been a goal for the other team. Well played lady Knights!

The sole goal of the team was made by sophomore Johanna Y. from the left side of the pitch into the goal keeper's stick side of the box. The goal was unassisted and was purely Johanna's own follow shot in a well-defended ASIJ D.

In cold and windy weather the Lady Knights battled against the ASIJ mustangs. In the second half the Knights were down by 4 points but with 13 minutes left on the clock Johanna S. sped past ASIJ's sweeper at the 50 yd line and she had a 1-on-1 opportunity with the goalie scoring our first goal. And again, with 4:30 min on the clock Johanna S. once again had a 1-on-1 opportunity bringing our score to a 2-4 game. Abi C. had more than 7 defensive saves. And the team had more than 8 shots on goal.

Fifteen lady Knights fought the first match of the season in Yokohama against the YIS Dragons. The 70 minute game was largely played on the defensive side of the field with more than 8 saves by Aiah in the goal. Defensive saves totaled to about 30 but the YIS Dragons played a solid first half scoring 4 goals. However, the Knights held their ground and only permitted one goal in the second half. We will see the Dragons again in two weeks time but next time it will on our home turf. Go Lady Knights!
