The high school boys' tennis team lost 5-0 at YIS on Friday. The Knights' season record is now 2-2.
Coach Koji Yamabe commented that the match had more positives than the score indicated.
He commented that Shun (No. 2 singles) “is always playing with consistency, but he is also learning how to play a bit more aggressively to finish off points.”
“It was obvious that Junu and Abhirupan (No. 2 doubles) played with more confidence,” Yamabe added. “Junu was able to get more serves in and Abhirupan jumped to reach a lot of volleys.”
These are the full scores from Friday:
1st Singles- Hugo (10th grade) loses 4-8
2nd Singles- Shun loses 2-8
3rd Singles- Minoru loses 1-8
1st Doubles- Joel and Peter lose 4-8
2nd Doubles- Junu and Abhirupan lose 0-8
The Knights will host KIST next Wednesday.
