CAJ’s boys’ cross country team suffered a 20-41 loss to rival ASIJ on Saturday at Tama Hills. However, CAJ still had a strong day against a team that is the clear favorite to win the Kanto League championship.

The top five for the boys on the 4.4-kilometer course were Jordan (15:56.6, 4th out of 72 varsity runners), Hayato (16:06.3, 7th), Stephen (17:09.2, 23rd), Koh-William (17:29.9, 30th) and Go (17:57.9, 38th).

GyungWon continued to compete as the only middle school runner. He had another personal record of 15:00.8 on the 3.3-kilometer course and placed 21st out of 106 middle school boy runners.

All 11 of CAJ’s male runners had season bests today, and seven of those 11 runners had all-time personal records. Full results can be found

“We had a great day for the guys today,” coach Nate Rudd said. “They all pushed hard. A lot of the guys got excellent personal records for themselves and they kept their focus very well today. Against the fierce competition this season, we are performing very well.”

The next meet for the team will also be at Tama Hills next Saturday.
