With two runners either sick or injured, the girls’ cross country team had only three runners available to compete on Saturday and had to forfeit to ASIJ, losing 15-50.

Natasha was the first runner to finish for the Knights on the 4.4-kilometer course. Her time of 22:34.7 placed 35th out of 63 varsity runners and was a personal record. Anna (23:35.4, 48th) and Yohana (27:33.3, 63rd) also had personal records. Full results can be found here.

Coach Nate Rudd was pleased with what he saw from the team today.

"The girls did excellently today as well. With only three girls, they still pushed very hard.

Natasha was an almost a minute faster [than last week] and was very focused today in her running. She really wanted to do better and she was able to perform better. Same thing with Anna. She did very well. Her splits were all faster than her previous times and she was able to finish a great race. Yohana did very well today. I do still think there’s some more talent she has that she can bring forward."

The next meet for the team will also be at Tama Hills next Saturday.
