HS track and field members compete in midweek meet at Yokota

Twelve members of CAJ's high school track and field team went to Yokota on Wednesday in a midweek qualifying meet. The Knights met two new Far East standards with their performances.

Annabelle surpassed the discus qualifying mark of 25.20 with a throw of 25.36 meters. The girls' 4x800 meter relay team is also now qualified, as Mariko, Krista, Charis and one of either Joy or Emi can have their season best times combined to beat the qualifying mark of 11 minutes and 22 seconds.

Here were the Knights' top-five individual performances and top-three relay performances from the smaller meet:

Megumi (9th grade)- 5th in 400 meters (69.07)
Mariko- 5th in 800 meters (2:42.50)
Jamie- 3rd in 110 meter hurdles (19.68), 4th in 300 meter hurdles (46.60)
Annabelle- 4th in shot put (7.81 meters), 2nd in discus (25.36 meters)
Leif- 3rd in discus (31.93 meters)
Mitsuki- 3rd in discus (23.85 meters)
Megumi (12th grade)- 1st in long jump (4.51 meters)
Girls' 4x400 meter relay (Megumi (12th grade), Krista, Mina, Megumi (9th grade))- 3rd (4:38.19)
