JV volleyball loses 2-0 to Seisen

The JV volleyball team lost 2-0 to Seisen on Friday in two close sets (21-25, 21-25). The loss moved the Knights' record to 2-3.

CAJ struggled with both serving consistency and effectively receiving serves, according to TaYoung and coach Haruka Akashi.

"This problem of missing serves is a problem we’ve had for a while," TaYoung said. "We’re starting to improve on it, but we really want to [get to the point where we are] missing no serves."

Akashi noted how the team often had defensive mistakes pile up when it couldn't move on from them mentally.

"The girls often dwelled on their serve receive mistakes today too much that they were not ready to get the next ball," she said.

On a positive note, Akashi added that the Knights were active around the net.

"The girls had some nice hits today," she said. "Even though it was a new rotation, it was nice to see them try to help and correct each other as well."

CAJ’s next game is next Tuesday at home against Zama.
