HS wrestling competes in Day 3 of Far East Tournament

The CAJ high school wrestling team wrapped up its season competing in Day 3 of the Far East Wrestling Tournament at Osan Air Base in South Korea on Saturday.

CAJ had just one dual meet on Saturday. The Knights lost 35-14 to Edgren and ended up finishing sixth place out of eight Division II teams in both the individual and dual meet championships.

The Knights won two out of three contested matches, getting victories from Joe (115 pounds) and Amon (135 pounds). Amon's technical fall win was his first win of the season, and he did it despite getting flipped over early in the match. Coach Morris Yaegashi said Amon's win was "very, very exciting." Yaegashi added that "Joe did his job" to defeat his opponent.

Unfortunately, Tai (141 pounds) lost his final match of his career. However, his improvement this year, Yaegashi said, "is a testimony to his hard work and commitment" throughout his several years in the wrestling program.

These were the individual results against Edgren:
115- Joe wins by fall
135- Amon wins by technical fall
141- Tai loses by fall
180- SungWon wins by forfeit

The wrestling season is now finished for CAJ.
