HS boys' basketball loses two games at ASIJ

The high school boys' basketball teams played at ASIJ on Wednesday. Varsity lost 49-44 and JV lost 79-31.

Varsity was missing four players, but the team still found a way to stay with an ASIJ team that still hasn't lost in Kanto Plains play.

According to coach Steve Hall, "Our guys played their hearts out. I'm very proud of how they competed. We played well defensively, kept ASIJ from getting into any rhythm and created a number of turnovers."

In the JV game, CAJ stayed relatively close in the first half and went into halftime with a 35-19 deficit. However, the Mustangs stretched out their lead for the rest of the game. Coach Charles Smoker said it was one of the team's best all-around games, despite the score.

Satvik led CAJ with 17 points. Kenshin, Ken and Taiyo had four points apiece.

Varsity's league record is now 6-2, and JV has a 0-8 league record. Both the varsity and JV teams will play on Saturday at home against St. Maur.
