JV girls' basketball pulls away for big 38-14 victory over ISSH

The JV girls' basketball team shook off a slow start on Thursday night to pull away for a 38-14 win at ISSH. CAJ moved to 2-0 on the season.

CAJ had trouble finding enough energy at the beginning of the game. As a result, ISSH scored four quick points and were winning the rebounding battle in the first several minutes. However, the Knights then found their groove on defense and got several fast-break points to build a big lead.

"This wasn't our best game," coach Jared Johnson said. "Our effort and execution of our strategy, especially at the beginning, weren't very good. But we did wake up a bit later in the game. I was happy that we could get a big lead so that our whole team could get a lot of time on the court."

Some key statistical leaders for the Knights were Akina (10 points, six rebounds), Mari (eight points, six rebounds), Jessica (six points, four rebounds) and Tayoung and HyeonSeo (four points each).

The next game for the Knights will be at home against St. Maur on Saturday afternoon.
