HS wrestling places sixth at Kanto Finals

The high school wrestling team competed at the makeup for Kanto Plains Finals on Tuesday at St. Mary's. CAJ placed sixth out of six teams with 21 total points.

CAJ had Jordan (108 pounds) place first in his weight class. Joe (115) got third and Theodore (129) and Kyong (148) both got fourth.

"It was an adjustment with postponing Finals from last Saturday to Tuesday," coach Morris Yaegashi said. "But the break didn't mess with the guys' mentality. They took the extra few days to prep more, and yesterday we got a good session in and we were all ready to go today."

One thing Yaegashi noted from the day was that a lot of the team's less experienced wrestlers had longer matches than usual. He commented that this was a definite sign of improvement, since the wrestlers are doing a better job holding off their opponents.
