CAJ had six middle school cross country runners compete in a hot, humid meet on Saturday at Tama Hills. The boys were able to field a team of five runners that defeated YIS by forfeit, while Anna ran for the girls' team.
GyungWon (14:28.9, 10th place out of 59 runners) led CAJ's runners. YJ (15:28.9, 15th), Kosuke (16:07.3, 22nd), SeWon (18:36.5, 48th) and Kade (21:02.1, 54th) all ran strong in their first cross country races. For the girls, Anna finished 59th out of 76 runners with a time of 21:36.1. Unfortunately, the girls don't have enough runners to score against other teams this year.
"The middle schoolers ran well," head coach Nate Rudd said. "As they're learning the course, they'll be able to do better in the future, but they did well for their very first try."
Full results from the meet are available here.
The Knights will compete again next week at Tama Hills in a meet with more teams coming to compete.
