Join a Mission
As Christians, CAJ faculty and staff are part of the Great Commission. CAJ assists missionaries with the education of their children. By serving at CAJ, faculty and staff support missions and work to equip CAJ students to serve Japan and the world for Christ.
Expatriate faculty and staff are encouraged to join a mission which can give spiritual support, help with visas, and provide ways to raise funds to supplement the partial salary which CAJ provides.

A good time to consider joining a mission is during your initial application process.
  • Mission-supported faculty and staff are employed by a mission, which provides visa guarantees, salary, benefits, and fellowship. The individual is subcontracted to CAJ, which gives a stipend to the mission which may be used to cover tuition costs of the mission’s children or to supplement the support raised by the missionary.
  • With mission-sponsored faculty and staff, the mission provides visa guarantees, fellowship, and possibly some benefits. The individual receives partial support from CAJ.

For expatriates unable to be mission supported or mission sponsored, CAJ can provide visa guarantees (only for teachers) and partial support. The individual is hired directly by the school, will be paid directly by the school, and can raise supplementary support through the Japan Christian Academy Association, a non-profit organization in the United States.

Below is a list of mission organizations and denomination mission boards which have supplied staff to CAJ in the past. Applicants should contact the organzations of their choice for detailed information about being placed at CAJ.
