This year we celebrate our 65th birthday as a school, but there are a lot of exciting new things to talk about as well.

New families, students and staff

We are starting the year with 45 new families and with 71 new students. We also welcome 10 new staff, though many of them are already familiar with Japan, our school and our program. We are emphasizing hospitality at our head of school meetings this semester, and we invite you to join us in welcoming everyone new to the CAJ community.

We strive to be a place of hospitality where new students and staff are welcomed and blend right it in with those who have been here for a little or a long time.

The elementary robotics clubs are fun and popular and have a newly remodeled space to work in.

New science classroom
We were able to remodel our former hostel building to create much needed office space and an even more needed science classroom. This space will also be used for our new robotics clubs. The offices will be used for development, accounting and the new Megumi Mission Archives (more about this in a future blog).

New food service

Cezar’s kitchen is our new food service provider, and they are off to an excellent start meeting the needs of our families and staff. You can watch the handbook entry on Food Services, Cafeteria for changes and announcements. There were also major upgrades to the equipment in the cafeteria to allow additional options and to improve food safety.

New lights and air conditioners
We did extensive work on replacing our air conditioning systems. This is not as exciting or visible as some of the other new things, perhaps, but these upgrades are good stewardship. Our buildings and equipment are on fixed maintenance cycles that allow us to budget properly and anticipate needs. We also have new vans, computers and other equipment that allow us to maintain our ambitious program and pursue our mission of preparing students to impact the world for Christ.

New speech and language therapist

After a couple of years without specialized speech and language services, we are glad to announce the return of a speech and language therapist on staff. We've also expanded our guidance services and added a number of new course options and curriculum modifications.

We are delighted at the new and grateful for all that we have. I hope you will join us as we give thanks to God for the great gifts He has blessed us with.

新しい１年

CAJは今年度、学校として６５周年を迎えますが、新たな素晴らしいことがたくさんおこっています。

新しいファミリー、生徒たち、そしてスタッフ

今年度は、新しいファミリー４５家族と７１人の新しい生徒たちを迎えて始まりました。また、新しいスタッフ１０人を迎えましたが、そのスタッフの多くがすでに日本やCAJ、また学校のプログラムに既になじみのある人たちです。今学期の学校長のミーティングでは、ホスピタリティ - おもてなし、について主に話していきます。ぜひ皆様も私たちとともにCAJコミュニティーの新しいメンバーの方々を喜んで迎え入れてください。

新しい生徒もスタッフも、すぐに受け入れられて、以前からいる人たちとすぐに打ち解けられるようにホスピタリティ溢れる場になれるよう努めています。

小学部のロボティックスクラブはとても楽しくて大人気です。

サイエンスの教室が新しくなりました
旧ホステルの建物をリフォームして、以前から必要だったオフィススペースとサイエンスのクラスルームを作ることができました。新しいロボティックスクラブもこのスペースを使用します。オフィススペースは、ディベロプメント、経理、そして新しい”めぐみミッションアーカイブ”（これに関してはまたこれからのブログでお話します）のために使われます。

古いエアコンを新しくするために大掛かりな作業が行われました。ほかの新しいことに比べて、あまり目に見えるものでもなく、エキサイティングでもありませんが、このような改善は限りのある資産を大切に使うために重要です。将来の必要を見据えて予算を組むために、私たちの建物と設備は定期的なスケジュールにそってメンテナンスを行っています。また、学校の意欲的なプログラムを支えていくための新しいワゴン車、コンピューターやその他の設備もそろえて、これからも、生徒たちがキリストのためにこの世界にインパクトを与えていけるように指導していきます。

ここ２年ほど言語療法士の先生がいない状態でしたが、今年度新しく先生を迎えることができたことを嬉しく思います。また、ガイダンスのサービスも拡大し、新しいコースを加え、カリキュラムの修正も行いました。

新しく与えられたことを大いに喜びつつ、今あるものに対しても感謝しています。神様が、私たちに与えて下るたくさんの贈り物を、皆様と一緒に神様に感謝することができるよう願っています。
