Ingredients
2 cups sugar
2/3 cup shortening
4 beaten eggs
3 cups applesauce
3 1/3 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2/3 cup raisins
1 cup whole cranberries - drained

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 ̊F. Cut sugar and shortening together. Stir in eggs, then add applesauce. Mix well, then stir in dry ingredients until just moistened. Blend in raisins and cranberries. Pour into 2 loaf pans (grease only bottoms or use baking paper to line pans). Bake until toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour. Turn out of pan to cool on wire rack.
