Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup wheat germ
2 cups oats
1 cup applesauce
2 cups milk
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Directions
Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg, mix well. Sift together flour, soda, spices, baking powder and salt. Combine with sugar mixture and add rest of ingredients. Put baking papers in muffin tins and fill each 2/3 full. Bake at 350 ̊F for 25 minutes.
