Thrift Shop is here! If you are in town this weekend, we hope you’ll drop by for a visit on Friday, April 20, or Saturday, April 21.
Since the early 1960's, the PTA has served the CAJ community in numerous ways. One tangible way that they help support our students is by raising funds for a variety of school projects ranging from playground equipment to sponsoring the robotics teams' travel to the VEX world championships last year. Many of these funds are raised through the CAJ Thrift Shop, hosted every October and April. Thrift Shop is a wonderful opportunity to clean out our closets and work together towards a common goal, while having lots of fun.
Over the past several years, we have seen a decline in Thrift Shop volunteers, donations, and CAJ family attendance. With changing times come changing needs. The PTA executive committee and CAJ administration have jointly come to the conclusion that in the best interest of the school we will host Thrift Shop just once a year instead of twice. This will be the last school year that we will host a Spring Thrift Shop.
Thank you for supporting Thrift Shop over the years. CAJ looks forward to continuing the Fall Thrift Shop and pursuing other ways that the PTA can support our students and serve the community.
Have a great week!

Spring is here! It’s official. March 1 marked the first day of the meteorological spring for those of us in the northern hemisphere. I don’t know about you, but I am thrilled. This year we had our share of snow in Tokyo and you’ll probably remember what it was like in high school slogging through those grey days between January and spring break. Now there is light at the end of the tunnel!
I trust that 2018 has been a wonderful year for you and your family so far. Here at CAJ, we are grateful for God’s faithfulness to our community. Our classrooms are filled with more than 440 students and we continue to serve another 330 students across Japan through School Support Services.
As we approach our 70th anniversary in 2020, we have been reflecting on our school’s core values and preparing for the future. We would appreciate your prayers as we seek to continue to be a Christ-centered school that partners with families to equip their children to serve Japan and the world for Christ.
For those of you who are in town, we hope you’ll drop by for some of the events that we have planned for the spring. It would be great to see you on campus! Also, if you would like to send us a personal update for the next CAJ Chronicle, please email email@example.com
