This is for work in the fine arts in which you do not earn a letter grade (just like in athletics, you do not earn awards based on classroom PE activity). In order to receive an award, you must fill out a form. This tells us that you wish to receive an award. Fill out the form even if you think you do not have enough points.

Guidelines[edit]

  • Art projects done for a grade are not included. Work done outside of class is included. Painting a set could earn visual arts or drama points (see the HS art teacher).
  • Having a work selected for Artscape and working on Artscape set-up and takedown are considered (see HS art teacher).
  • Attendance at school-related concerts by Chamber Singers and Handbell Ensemble does not earn points, but the group's participation in other off-campus performances does earn points. See the director for further information.
  • Anyone who earns a grade in orchestra is not eligible to earn points. However, off-campus, non-CAJ sponsored performances earn points.
  • Flute Ensemble is not a class. Points may be earned for attendance. See the director.
  • Private lessons can earn points. See the music department chair.
  • Vocal Solo and Ensemble/Honor Choir: see the HS choir director.
  • Instrumental Solo and Ensemble/Honor Band or Strings: see your supervising teacher
  • Recital pieces: see your supervising teacher
  • Worship arts: see the chapel coordinator
  • Math Field Day, Brain Bowl, Debate, Matsu, Speech Contest: the advisor for each activity is responsible for giving awards
  • Do you have further questions? See the fine arts coordinator

Awards and pins will be distributed during events at the end of the school year.
